Market leadership has been introduced in Module 4 of ‘The Challenge’, a free internet marketing course that I have registered with (and you can too!)
Interestingly, the main requirement for market leadership is consistency i.e. the ability to day-in, day-out keep posting content about your subject. Naturally, the move valuable that your content is to your readers or viewers, the faster you will achieve leadership in your market.
The other aspect to this is that through consistency, you will achieve familiarity with your readers and this is a key aspect in any buying decision – more often than not, we go to those that we know and trust to make a purchase. That’s why networking is such a valuable marketing strategy, whether online or offline.
Building a business online therefore requires consistent application. To achieve consistency then this requires that you enjoy your topic – otherwise it becomes difficult to stay engaged, particularly in the early stages when there may be little or no money to reward your efforts.
Working to a plan therefore becomes important – knowing what your long-term goals are and how what you are doing today fits into that plan – this makes some sense of your daily activities – a bit like laying another brick to build your house. Each brick in and of itself is insignificant and yet also a vital part of the final product.
Some of the best websites online have been built through consistent action i.e. their biggest attribute is the age of the domain and that new content was consistently posted to build a valuable asset.
It is impossible to know where this will lead you – writing and publishing a book, films, consulting, training, etc So I hope that this short article inspires you to ‘keep laying the bricks’ which will form the foundation of your online business.
This is the only way to achieve market leadership. Of course subscribers to my Business Renegade blog and newsletter are already on their way to market leadership in their niche.
